Art of Popcorn

A while back I decided to rid ourselves of our microwave. It was large, old and fugly. Out it went.

The reaction of our friends to this was an overwhelming sense of profound loss: did we want our friends to buy a new one as we did not buy a replacement? Did we need money? Were we OK?

Yeah, we’re great. We’re just living without a microwave, you know, a tea kettle to actually boil water versus a cup of tepid water after enduring watching a spinning cup for 4 minutes; fresh popcorn with pure butter and sea salt versus some chemical compund on styrofoam masterfully disguised as popcorn; hot food versus blistering food.

We’re just groovy.
